Hello! I am Melissa, a 3D artist and illustrator. I am a 3D generalist with interest in modeling, layout, materials, lighting, and rendering, with experience in VR/AR, 3D printing and illustration.
Managed and directed a remote team of 2D and 3D artists with the goal of creating a game demo for the indie game Meanwhile in Sector 80
Wonderstorm is a double-threat multimedia startup dedicated to creating timeless entertainment franchises anchored by rich, character-driven stories and engaging video games that will delight audiences of all ages for generations. We’re currently developing The Dragon Prince, a Netflix animated series and a deep, engaging video game – both from the same world and vision.
Worked with a team of illustrators and designers to create 3D models and renders for packaging illustrations, books, and games. Assisted in creating 3D mock-ups for packaging designs, product designs, and VR experiences. Served as 3D consultant for the team, assessing over incoming assets and helping to communicate with outsourced teams. Client brands include Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, and Transformers.
Volunteered to help organize a community-run XR hackathon held at MIT, with the goal to educate, empower, and enable people to be part of the XR industry. Created a series of illustrations used to advertise the hackathon on social media. Served hardware team on-site during the hackathon; helped participants check out various VR/AR hardware for their projects.
Summer internship at Massachusetts Digital Games Institute. Led art direction of the mobile game "Hibachi Hero". Communicated with 2D artists, 3D artists and programmers to guide the artistic direction of the game. Designed background and knives for the game.
